History and Geology
Records of the existence of the noble residence of CHATEAU RAMAFORT date back as far as 1240. The calcareous clay and sandy clay soils have borne vines since the 17th century.
Numerous fossils and shells can be found where the limestone crops out.

Excellence based on tradition
Evenly balanced varietal proportions (50% Merlot, 50% Cabernet Sauvignon) and high clay content in the soil help to bring out the fruit in the wines of CHATEAU RAMAFORT. Barrel-ageing following by ageing in bottles in the underground cellar results in a more complex bouquet, although fruitiness remains the dominating impression.
